SLT timestamps in saved IM's - conflict

When I log on every day, my saved IM's say something like this example from today:

[2009/04/11 9:10] Mary Smith: (Saved Sat Apr 11 11:22:22 2009) Hey Lisette!

So..I'm logging on and reading this saved message at 9:10 SLT on April 11th. Awesome. What the heck does the timestamp on the saved message mean? I don't get it!

Was it saved 2 hrs and 12 mins LATER than the time I actually read it? Please help me understand this odd and confusing translation of SLT in saved chat timestamps.

Thanks!

the (Saved...) stuff is shown in local time. Nobody knows why.

because the intended target is not online, so it defaults to the senders time. possibly because the receivers local time is calculated locally as well and could change based on DST which is different in different places, or because the receiver could log on from a different time zone than previously. having SLT all the time would throw lots of people
