Does anyone know how I can make my chat history window less transparent?

Check preferences - maybe the Text tab. One of those tabs has a transparency amount that you key in.

Check preferences - maybe the Text tab. One of those tabs has a transparency amount that you key in. thats for non window text  I always use the window and lately its just to transparent for me_____________________

Has the transparency actually changed? I checked now and agree, it's too transparent when not active, I just can't recall if it was ever different.

hmm - maybe experiment with different colors of text then as some colors may show better than others, even when somewhat transparent.

Just tested with the silver skin, and that one is much less transparent.

ChatHistoryBgColor debug setting includes alpha. I think it needs a relog to get used though.

Cuz then the rest of us wouldn't have been given the answer also. That is why RA is so great -- some of us get answers to questions that we didn't even yet know we had. That is the most help I find here! Sometimes I see a questions and its answer and I'm like Duh! I never noticed! So yeah- I get lots of answers to stuff I didn't know to ask. _____________________

Shh, I didn't say I tried it myself.
Looks like it doesn't work. That debug setting doesn't get saved, similarly to AllowMultiple, because it doesn't come from the usual settings sources, it's from the skin definition. The relevant lines in colors_base.xml in skins definitions (C:\Program Files\SecondLife\skins\either-skin-here\colors_base.xml) are those:<!-- CHAT AND IM HISTORY TEXTBOX COLORS --> <ChatHistoryBgColor value="0, 30, 80, 200" /> <ChatHistoryTextColor value="255, 255, 255, 255" /> <IMHistoryBgColor value="0, 30, 80, 200" /> <IMHistoryTextColor value="255, 255, 255, 255" /> The format is an obvious R,G,B,Alpha. _____________________
