Problem: Purchased items (skins)
Money left in game, items in inventory. As per normal.
Put on the skin, as in i "wore" it.
Wandered around a bit. talked to people. had other saying "wow anci - that skin looks good on you"
Crashed. Logged back on. Was wearing the skin previous to the one I purchased. Looked in inventory - EVERYTHING i had purchased was gone. But my money situation online \still showed I had purchased items.
Cleared cache. Relogged several times. reinstalled. nup - they are gone.
Result: Lost $4000L and nothing to show for it.
Plus I don't have a clue who to contact to get my money back - this was all I had for the next three months and I splashed out on skins because its been the one thing I've been looking forward to.
Anyone got any fixes???
Much appreciated

anci, you might wait until tomorrow and then check your inventory again--the grid has been funky today. If it doesn't show up, then I would just write the creator and ask if they would resend--skins usually aren't transferable and they will have a record of the purchase.

No one will give you your money back, but if you nicely approach the skin seller with this, you may have the skins sent to you again.
Were they no transfer? If so, your shot at having the seller give you a new copy of them goes up.
Have your transaction info ready when you send the IM or notecard.
And above all, be nice. The last thing on most sellers minds is taking care of the squeaky wheel, when you can mute it.

contact the skin seller, have an idea who it is and they are no transfer like many others, just write a notecard explaining it to them nicely and drop it in their profile go back to the shop, right click the skin sales box and lookup the owner and open their profile

Good advice about the notecard and being nice about it.
First tho, I would wait until the grid settles down, prolly tomorrow. Then I would delete my entire directory of Second Life data (on a PC, C:\Documents and Settings\<your userid>\Application Data\SecondLife), and relog.
The only downside is that you have to reset your preferences, but there is no risk of losing anything, and it sometimes works when clearing cache does not.
