I have a friend who's maintaining land for a few estate owners and she's telling me that she simply can't keep people off the islands by using the estate ban list. (O.o)

Actually, I'm facing one of the retards right now... We can send him home, we can parcel ban him, but the estate is simply not sending him away. (=_=)

What the heck is going on? (O.o)

I'm prone to not believe there's a client that can bypass estate settings. (>_<;)

Of course, this is based on the assumption that land management is handled server-side. Which, they are, right? (O.o)

Well... That and I've been accused of circumventing bans. (>_<;)

But, still. How do we keep this crud off our sim? We don't manage all the parcels. The only tool we have at our complete disposal is the estate ban list and it's not working. (T_T)

It's http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4632 - and no special client is needed, they just aren't working very well.

But that takes all the fun out of pointing fingers at those horrid jiggly boob viewers! :P

When you really really really must ban someone and bans are not working then make a tp home orb and plug in a sensor to detect them. Or grab one of the security systems already made.

It always freaks me out when these jiras get assigned a triage issue number but nobody listed as assigned to work on it. We can just hope that means the internal jira is getting worked, with no update to the pjira entry. Grrr.

Interesting hypothesis in one of the comments to that jira, that it may be related to the number of accounts listed on the estate ban list. It might be illuminating if the affected estates all have more than, say, 250 names on the list (of, supposedly, 500).

Just giving Murphy his due, I wonder if the logic might do something stupid when it encounters a listed name that no longer has a valid account. :p

Well I've been unbanned in one sim and it's still acting like I'm banned.
