For classes on building and many other topics, check out NCI. Do a search to find it or I'm sure someone around will give you the location. Great place for new residents.

Check out the relevant forums for tips on how to become a builder etc.

There are classes ran by people such as NCI that will teach you how to do some of the relevant things.

Also go visit the Ivory Tower for building tips.

Making money in SL isn't easy...unless you really, REALLY want to be a content creator, you'd probably be better off just putting a payment method on file and funding yourself that way.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Go to a sandbox and start rezzing some prims. Think of something you would like to have in real life and try creating it.

Also remember this isn't the Sims. You don't have to have a house or sleep or have a job if you don't want to. Just run around and explore and enjoy. Then decide what you want to do as a career.

If you are really new, scrap the idea of a job for now. There is plenty to see and do without Lindens to fund it and many freebies out there for you to. If you really want so walking around money, get a Hoppy Pay HUD, this will credit in linden cents as you explore, and at 10 or more L$ and you can cash in for your linden. As mentioned, working for Linden is hard, time consuming and can sour you pretty damn fast on SL, so I recommend you avoid a job right of unless you come across something you absolutely want to try, if that were the case you would likely not be asking here.

Otherwise I would follow the advice above.

I will give you a seat in the next DJ or Host class - then place you in a club that pays a hourly rate. The class is only 90 minutes either way. You learn SL basics and some skills relevant to the job you choose. I will send you a class schedule.

Why do you need a job? No one *needs* a job in SL - you can freeload your way round SL. There is no point in working unless you want to and truly enjoy it and it takes time to try things out and find out what you really do enjoy doing - and that may well not be working in a job.

So ask yourself "why?" and then ask yourself, "what do I enjoy doing?" first of all.

Look under search > events >educaion for classes on building etc.
But basically for now just use your credit card like most people do to get good stuff, $1 US buys $280 Linden Dollars.
There are plenty of free clothes about and if you are starving many people will give you free prim food :)
