Well, after putting SL down for some time for a couple of different games and to focus more on my schoolwork, I come back once in a while and find it a little odd to adjust to SL's specific controls again. :P

Most other games out there use keys like W, A, S & D to move around the world (City of Heros/villians I have been hooked on and have gotten so used to using these controls)

So is there any way to change the keys to move? Or no? It isn't an option in preferences. If not that's just fine and I guess I have to get used to using the arrow keys again. :P

There was a big issue about this about a year ago (I think)...........the arrow keys are your only option.

SL has those. WASD for directions, E and C for up and down, F for fly.

If you're wanting to do something different, look for keys.ini in the app_settings folder, you can change them there. Save a copy, because a fresh one gets reinstalled with each viewer update.

If you close your chat line you can use W,A,S & D to move around.

Yes, I find this out the hard way when I TRY to chat with my chat tab accidentally closed and I jump up in the air when I hit an "E."

Avatars around me must think I'm weird.

Whoo! I go away for a little while and come back to a slew of replies, haha.

Thank you guys for the help, I totally forgot about closing the chat. Go me for having a moment. :3

And as I test it out, that's ten times better than reaching my arm across the keys and straining my wrist to use the arrows. Ahh, yes.

Some folks might it useful to use the mode where presing enter closes the chat bar, and uncheck "Arrow keys always move avatar".

I find it hard to get used to this myself, but it can useful, especially when building.

This mode would let you use the WASD keys for moving the avatar most of the time easily with no clicking anywhere.
