I have some full perm skins in my inventory and wanted to know if there was a way to take them out of the game (texture) and edit them myself, or is the only way to use the sliders and do minimal adjustments to the makeup?

oh Honey, i think taking them out and bringing them back is constitutes less as 'tweaking' and more as 'texture stealing'.

you'll just have to use your sliders until you get the desired effect.

When I've tried tweaking full perm skins (make-up), nothing seemed to change using the sliders and I have light skin.

if the skin is not semi transparent the sliders will not change anything

you can not take out the textures to the HD, as mentioned that would be texture stealing

Unless it's one of Eloh Eliot's of Another Shop...she's giving the textures out as well.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

If the skins are full permissions, it's not necessarily stealing anything. My advice would be to right click on the skin in your inventory, and select "about". Then look for the Creator. IM him or her and ask if the skin is intended as full permissions first, and second, if he or she minds if you capture the textures for tweaking. You might get lucky.

Do keep in mind that many full permission skins are such due to fraud (i.e., a trusted friend releases a skin with full perms) or due to SL permissions error. So if they tell you the skin is not supposed to be full perms, please respect that.

just get the ones from another skin as mentioned previously hehe

as for capturing the textures, one would think if the creator wanted the textures out there they would have packaged them with it, or hand them over if they did not mind

no need to resort to capturing the images

Sorry, I honestly never thought of it as stealing when I was just tweaking these for my own wear. Thanks for the replies everyone!

yeah people are sensitive about skins this days.. :-)
If the skins are full perms and you download them for your own use than there is nothing wrong with it. However, reselling would be "not okay" to put it that way but the creator should have made them no modify to start with.

honey tweaking a full perm skin that is tweaked via the sliders is fine

using a means to extract the actual textures and downloading to your pc is stealing... (unless you have permission from the designer, such as eloh's

I love those skins she has listed on her blog, so much possibility and such a great learning tool
