How it works
1. You rez the treatment broadcase tower.
2. You select WHO to deliver the message to. You may select multiple people.
3. The message will completely fill up their screen so that they cannot see anything but your message. It will continue appearing on their screen until you DELETE the treatment broadcast tower. Or say /2 stop
4. Continuous exposure to your message, coupled with the inability to see anything except your message, will begin to drive the target insane. They will try to figure out what the hell it is coming from, why they cannot see, and why it won't go away. They will probably try logging on and off to see if that stop it. They will try teleporting to other regions. Eventually they may break down and cry. Finally, they will go insane.
IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED THAT YOU USE THIS DEVICE FOR HIGH AMOUNTS OF TIME.... CONSTANT EXPOSURE TO THE SAME REPEATING MESSAGE IS VERY LIKELY TO INDUCE INSANITY.

Quick tip: I encountered this today for the first time, being used by an f-word devotee. It is just another chat spammer. If you get hit by one, simply click on the "History" button on your chat line, and the spam will be confined to a box that you can size downward and move out of the way. The spammer renders keyboard chat useless as long as it operates, but you can still IM, do voice chat - and oh yes, file that AR before you go about your business.

Unfortunately, as long as it's as easy as it is to just create another throw-away account, deletion of the griefer's isn't all that effective of a deterrent, but it's really all we got. And I suppose it would take more than the average dweeb's foresight to get this junk transfered before it got wiped with the old account. On the other hand, this one is just *so* lame. Its appeal has to be limited to only the most cretinous, so there's probably no way to keep new ones from trying it. |
