Having a problem with voice

Hello I have a headset and I am havin a problem voicing in sl. I can hear the person speakin thru he pc speakers but not via he headset. They can hear me fine. Is their anything that I can do? I am in an sl wedding tomorrow and its in voice

Jonquel, this happened to me if I added a new headphone and tried to use it in SL before restarting my PC. Try rebooting your computer. Then when you restart SL, check in "Edit Preferences" for configuring voice, and see if SL notes the correct headphone/mic you are using.

I am not sitting in front of a computer with sl right now so these instructions will be very generic but I know that if you go into your preferences and click on the tab for voice that you can choose what audio devices you want SecondLife to use for playback and recording.

I had the same exact problem when I put different speakers on my PC.....my headphones had worked fine with the old speakers....now with the new ones I can't hear thru the head set....tho the icon over my head does react to noice/voice from my end.

I have yet to be able to figure out why....mine IS configured right. *shrug* I'm thinking it has something to do with both speakers & headset being plugged into front USB ports....but not sure why that should matter.

If nothing else, just leave the headset so it's off your ears but close to your mouth. Listen to them on the speakers and speak to them through the mic.
