Could anyone with useful tips on searching these forums please share. I often find I cannot search the forum because the search term is 'too short'. For example, if you want to find threads on VAT, you will get this error: From: someone Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : VAT
Is there any trick to searching for key words that are short? I also have difficulty finding posts by myself or others in particulaly long threads (I can find which thread, but not where in that thread). Any tips on this would be appreciated too. Rock

I was going to suggest something like
vat site:forums.secondlife.com
on google... but that picks up every instance of avatar which doesn't help much!

Rock- try advanced search and down towards the bottom there is an option to show results as posts rather than threads- that will take you to the post in question- re short terms for search- i am sorry never had to do it so no clue how to get around that one.

It used to be possible to request to have a term added to the exception list, such that you'd still be able to search for VAT despite it being only three characters long. I don't know that LL is still bothering with forums.secondlife.com. You could try asking in the new Answers system; I know it's not what you wanted but if you have a specific question you might get the answer you need.
