Hi,

What is the easiest way to move a build (house plus all its furniture) from one sim to another?

Depends upon how big it is. Ceera is good at stuff like this.

Personally, I would pick up any no-copy, expensive items individually, first, like scripted beds and furnishings. No sense in taking risks with then not rezzing properly, and losing everything.

Then hover just above the house or structure. Place one prim in one corner of the lot, which will end up being the last thing you'll select. Name that prim with something that accurately names the bulild, like "Old Queens Scoolhouse, fully furnished - 03-2009".

In the Advanced menu, select Rendering > Hide selected.

In the Tools menu, check "Select only my objects".

Now drag-select across the house. The parts you select will become invisible, with highlighted prim edges.

Move closer, and make sure no small items got missed. Shift-click to add those.

Deselect Advanced menu, select Rendering > Hide selected.

Shift click to select that prim I had you make and label, and then take the selected assembly into inventory. (If it was all copyable, do a "Take copy" instead, and leave the original build in place!)

You now have one conglomerated object, clearly labeled, in inventory.

Go to the new site and with the building tools selected, rez the building. Since it is all still selected, you can now position it as one unit.

Deselect when in place, and delete the naming prim.

Restore any no-copy, high value items to their respective locations.

Many thanks for the inputs.

I had a little practice with one in-world suggestion, i.e to 'wear' the build. I rezzed a house, consisting of 380 prims, selected it all, and then chose 'Wear' from the Pie Menu. Amazingly I could wear the entire build. I could then fly to a new location, or even teleport to another sim, and the build came with me. Selecting 'Drop' (not Detach) from the Pie Menu then placed the build exactly where I was stood.

I will try the other suggestions as well, once again, thanks

After you've taken everything from your old place and it is now safely in your inventory as a coalesed object (looks like a stacked cubes icon in your inventory indicating multiple objects taken at the same time) - just be a bit careful of where you rez the entire build at your new location and that you have plently of room around you. If you rez a big coalesced object close to a no-build parcel border and it goes over, some people have lost stuff that way - especially if it contains no-copy stuff. Here's some extra info about coalesced objects you might find handy https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4581

oops sorry i forgot how knowledge base articles are hard to link because of frames. try this:

https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=4581

If that doesn't work ... go to this link: http://secondlife.com/support/

right hand side is the knowledge base link and search for this article:
Inventory: How the Coalesce feature works

There are videos and stuff in the article so a bit hard to cut and paste. Hope that helps :)
