Unresponsive Avatar Hovers over Marshland

What would you do if an unresponsive avatar has hovered over part of your land for 3 or 4 days? IMs say user is offline, and go unanswered. I am tempted to eject them... is it part of a game?

Decorate them like a Christmas tree.

dress them up in prims first and take a picture. a IM usually unlocks them, you may have to wait for a sim restart, or if it's private land ask the estate manager to restart

It's someone's bot that got lost. Perhaps it's a group invite bot or some special purpose bot for communications.

Just eject it from your land or send it home.

If it keeps comming back, try and find out who owns it, or find out what groups it belongs to.

In my bot's profile I put "Contact Zolen Giano for information" in such a case.

Could be a bot, or could be a "ghost" of a crashed avatar. Try ejecting it. If you can't eject it, request a sim restart to remove it.

Or just make a real huge prim, make it physical and then drag in edit mode to the avatar. As the avatar interpenetrates, it'll move the av, keep doing until they aren't over your land anymore. It doesn't really accomplish anything, but it's fun as hell!

I vote for Milla's idea, followed by pictures posted on Flickr, followed by Cappy's idea.

There really needs to be a stickied thread called "Having fun with Bots" maybe separated into two categories: Legal and Illegal.

Sounds like an artifact. File a support ticket if it's mainland and they should force a restart or if private estate ask the estate owner to force a restart and it will go away. Or wait for the next rolling restart. Eject won't do anything.

If the avatar was totally inert, lacking any emotional affect, perhaps Keanu Reeves has joined SL.

I once saw a avatar stuck halfway in the sand under some Protected Linden water.
Tried the usual contact stuff, no response.
After a couple of days I filed a ticket.
A day or so later, the avie was gone.

I had no idea you could get stuck up to your chest in the ground, lol.

My land straddles two sims, on the edge of Linden ocean. That means there is a 4-sim intersection on the edge of my land. I call it "the Bermuda Quadrangle" since ships occasionally get stuck there. Here's a couple of snapshots of one unfortunate who embedded her pretty yacht in the seabed on one occasion. This is the view from one of the Linden sims looking back toward my land:




And camming down belowground, here's the poor unfortunate trapped under the seabed, condemned by some sin (possibly an over-hasty sim crossing) to ghostily haunt the Linden oceans for eternity:

Found an avatar (mostly gray) floating in Nautilus - Yarikh, south west corner.

He's been there for more than a month and on Linden land.

Should I AR? Or submit s support ticket?

If I were going to do anything at all about it, I'd put in a support ticket rather than an AR. I mean, what abuse could the stuck av really be reported for? But since it's on Linden land, maybe it's simplest just to leave it be. If the av's stuck or ghosted, then the owner can put in a support ticket if/when they want it fixed; if it's a bot and it's not doing anything that affects you, perhaps it's best to leave it for the Lindens to sort out if they feel inclined to, since it's on their land. *shrug*

It's not an avatar. It's just the moon reflecting off of swamp gas.
