How do you feel about the loss of unregulated virtual banking in SL?

Comments are welcome, but please keep them brief and reasonably civil (there are plenty of threads where you can read the venting responses......) Thanks!

There is an unstated assumption here that makes it impossible to vote - namely, that any of these "banks" had anything to do with what we generally term "banking".

I only care about my RL bank. I feel sorry about those who lost money and those who had legitimate 'businesses', but the risks were probably foreseeable.

Almost voted for the thick crust pie, though. Haven't eaten all day. /me runs off to make dinner...

With 60 % extra crust, you can have a pie bank (instead of a sand bank)

Umm ... yeah that makes no sense at all does it? lol

/me votes pie because she doesn't see a better choice..

Although I'm glad LL shot the SL 'banking' industry, I would have been just as happy if they had found a way to make it crystal clear to residents that it was totally unregulated and high risk. People are always coming into SL expecting to make fast & easy bags of cash and, just IMO, 'banking' was a big lure for these types - both on the banker side and the bankee side.

I know LL couldn't have just done that, though. They really don't have a good way to tell 'everybody' something and even if they did, it would have sorta be an implicit approval of the industry...

Well ok this is a different question I guess, but related, Why haven't we seen more people in the forums screaming blue murder, could be that the majority of people who use 'banks' are 'no payment info on file', or just never read the blogs and they don't even know this will be in effect soon?

Yes, I have investments in several reputable SL banks. They have made me a lot of money. They have been generating about 4K to 5K per week for me, for a long time. How many of you are getting that from your SL business? Yes, there were some disreputable investors out there. You just had to take the time and effort to find the good ones.

I voted "glad they're gone but it doesn't affect me." SL is confusing enough to newbies without yet another person trying to scam their money from them. Even the Wild West had some laws.

Oh, and I would almost maim someone for a piece of thick crust apple pie and a wedge of sharp cheddar cheese. Stupid diets.
