If I am a business owner, is there anyway possible to get my store, club, service, etc., listed in SL's Search? Is there a weekly or monthly fee involved? I'm curious as to just how to all these listings get into Search in the first place. Thank you.

You're in search already. There are options on objects if you want them included and if you list your land in search for L$30 a week it's already in there.

If you own your land, go to About Land and find the tab where you can select "Show in Places," it's $30L a week. Make sure to include a nice description in your land description with some keywords that describe your business. You can also post classifieds for various charges (I recommend studying the current search results for target keywords you'll be using, and deciding how much you want to pay after seeing where your ad would end up among the current ads listed). $50L is the minimum for a classified, but if you're going to spend $50, might as well spend $51 or $61 to get a little ahead of the rest of the $50 ads. Some people think classifieds are a waste, but depending on your business, they can be very beneficial. The cost of classifieds are charged on a weekly basis and you can choose to auto-renew each week.

Forget all that -the NEW search wil scupper all those efforts and likely to bury you very deep onto high numbered pages

- Find out what you or your products do that other people in the same business category do not. Are yours minimalist and easy to use, or feature rich? Are they high-detail or low-prim? Try to get as many of these types of things marked down and try to get them into the description of your store. Don't go looking for the most common search words though, what you want to aim for is a selection of words that describe your business and nobody else's, in terms of what you do, what your aims are and so-on. Do the same with any classifieds you post for individual items (or types of item). - Throw a big opening event. Get your friends over, get them to bring their friends, get some music, get some freebies and party the hell out of your store. The event, and the freebies will get interest, people will start finding out about your stuff through friend of a friend type situations and come looking for your store to buy the item. Giving out freebies here and there is a great way to attention in a product, as otherwise people never see one for themselves. Word of mouth is very powerful on SL. - Get yourself a unique name and brand your products. Even it's just by naming your items "<brand> Sofa", if people search for that word it should come up with your store, if your brand-name is unique enough.
