Hello, I am having some issues using streaming live audio and voice chat locking up my PC. I have to manually power down and restart the PC. This happens everytime I try to use voice chat and aprox. 60% of the time on live music streams. it usually occures after a while of using either and I hear sometimes, the people talking whilist my PC is frozen or the music is reverberating.. (bits of horrible sound playing over and over and over and over non stop until I shut down)
I can stream music on my land or others and usually only suffer a mild delay if that.
So it has to be something with the other two mentioned... ???
My Pc has correctly updated drivers and my configuration is as follows:
Windows Vista Business Edt.
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz 2047 MB memory NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Realtek High Definition Audio (onboard) Cable Connection Cable supplied modem (brand new) Linksys Wireless Router WRK546 (hard wired to PC)
Not sure what else would help, but it is getting annoying.. really annoying and is consistant!
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Thanks for any help you can give me. Nice machine. Although your problems *MIGHT* still be hardware, the first thing you should consider is try running on Windows XP instead of Vista. Officially SL doesn't support Vista. http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php

I didn't want to have to dual boot the PC, but if that fixes it...... ; ( I will investigate this, and thanks for the direction.
I know other people who do use Vista as well with no issues, or at least none like this..

Hi Tariana,
I had the reverb problem myself, even without voice. I asked some smart people about it, and they said that since I'm streaming FROM my computer and then trying to listen to the same stream coming FROM SL, it's probably going to go all wonky, with time distortion n such. I'm seriously no expert on this but the only way around it that I've found is to not use voice and listen only to what I'm streaming out.

Interesting, but I am not streaming music... however, at one point I did install the shoutcast server.... This is worth investigating, perhaps there is something in that setup that is causing this...
