recent TP issues?

While trying to "hunt" for the Valentine's Freebies scattered Grid Wide, I'm getting more than my fair share of failed tps Anyone else getting this and have you come up with a work-around?

Folks have reported improved TP success by dressing much as one would to minimize ARC: wearing as few as possible attachments, as few as possible prims in each attachment, and as few as possible scripts in each attached prim.

[ETA: If this works, HUDs should be just as bad as avatar attachments. And this from someone who sells a HUD.]

I TP naked. And still get fails.

LL needs to dramatically reduce the amount of prims we can attach to our avatars (and grossly stifle avatar creativity) OR FIX THE DAMN TELEPORT PROBLEM.

Agreed! I feel that the mapping function of the grid is compromised atm. Who knows why, might be everyone trying to tp to the same places due to the hunt. Drat!!

I swear that every server rollout for the past few months has just made lag and such worse and worse -- and I think most of the TP failures right now are due to the TP actually timing out from lag.

TPs have been failing awesomely the past few days, even during non-peak times. It's really good for business. arcasticglare:

I've been tp-ing all over the grid for a few days and have only had one failure. My current AV is pretty light on scripted attachments, though.

OMG - maybe it is my huge inventory that is having a hard time traversing our megagrid.

I refuse to take off my prim hair/skirt/shoes nor detach most of my HUDs -- they really are NEEDED.

Well, me too, with one account that has few scripted attachments (almost all HUDs), whereas I've had some delays, a few time-outs, and even an old-time double-TP with another account that has considerably more scripted stuff attached to the avatar. But this is far from a scientific sampling, so it's hard to pin down what if anything is the real difference.

It shouldn't be Inventory. That's not to say it isn't, but in theory, there's nothing the receiving sim has to know from an agent's static Inventory. (FWIW, the av that has some problems for me has about 10K; the one that doesn't has about 14K.)

I had posted a thread earlier with this same issue- started last night and it has been miserable... Do we complain to LL? What?

I've noticed that shedding attachments (including scripted HUDs) seemed to help. However, take anecdotal evidence with a grain of salt, it may just be a coincidence and we're all looking for obvious answers.

Removing prims isn't a solution; it's a workaround. I don't have to take off my clothes to walk across the street in real life, and I sure as hell shouldn't have to do it in a video game.

Perhaps this is all the work of a perverted hacker bent on getting every female AV TPing around the grid naked.

That's certainly true. At the moment, though, we're not even particularly sure that it's an effective workaround. (If we could establish that, we might have something useful to tell the devs in a jira.)

Clearly there is more research that needs to be done on this issue. If it's ok with you I'd like to TP you naked over to my house tonight and see what happens.
