For 3 days not I've been trying to get into SL and it keeps getting stuck on "detecting hardware" and doesn't even show up in my applications list.
Any ideas? (can't send a crash log because it gets stuck while trying to detect the hardware there too)

i've had this only happen when i either had video card problems or when my video card was not compatible.
Did you do any driver updates of any kind.. any recent changes at all to your system ?

I would try uninstalling SL and then reinstalling it. Sometimes I get stuck at "Clearing Cache" and I do the same thing. It always work without fail, so it should work with your situation.
