Permissions Resetting

Just had this happen, and am not particularly gruntled about it. A formerly mod/copy horse of mine defaulted completely to no mod/no copy. This includes all the scripts and such in the leg prims (read, beyond tedious to fix). It happened to both my master copy and the copy in my vendor, but oddly not to the other horses. I tried resetting the permissions, but they kept defaulting back to no mod/no copy, until on the third attempt I was able to get the horse body to remain mod at least.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, I might go comb JIRA and put in a vote somewhere. Perhaps SL is just having the proverbial bad hair day :/

Yes, although, not for a few weeks. (knock on wood) It always happened shortly after being created or not at all though and was due to SL seemingly being unable to figure out I had created the object. The creator spot would just be blank. When it does happen, it happens to all copies of the object.

Strange things are a-foot in SL today for sure. I was making a linked object, and put a menu script in it. I started with New Script in the Contents tab of the root prim, copied my script over the top of the default "Hello Avatar", and saved it. Somehow the llSay was persistent in the prim and every touch produced a "Touched" message. Even dragging a copy out of it, the copy did the same thing. Nothing I could do change it. Just had to unlink and replace the prim.

couple days ago, I got a notice in game that someone purchased my office chair for 10L

this was a chair that I had bought, had it for a few months now, sitting in my office
it was a transfer permissions and I know I did not have it for sale (I always check that stuff)

apparently SL figured it was time for me to not have that chair anymore and set it for sale, and someone ended up being at my office and bought it

(strange timing since my office is not a busy place)

weird SL

i read something similar about demo hairs too having their permissions resetted and turning into modifiable. anyone that buys the demos could just remove the demo stand. so its always good practice to check your goods every now and then.

Yup! Had it happen to my stuff every so often. After every update I check everything just in case.
