Can BBC Radio 1 thru',2, 3 ,4, and all the rest like Asian Network be played in sl? I am not intelligent enough to work out how it is done and end up with dead silence when I try to set it up.

Also, I think there is a classical station in US - in Boston, I think? Can that be played in SL?

If you know answers to these questions could you explain - as simply as possible please - how I can access them? Please dont tell me about goggabites and ziggurats or whatever. I love technology but havent a clue about "what's going on under the hood."

get the URL for the station you want to play and paste it into your 'about land' screen.

there are hundreds if not thousands of classical radio stations in the US...google is your friend.

here is a URL to several: http://classicalwebcast.com/usa.htm

my friend has Virgin radio (uk) on his land, I have classical music in my shop.

BBC TV/Radio services use the proprietary iPlayer format and as such are not compatible with anything other than their player.

The answer therefore to the best of my knowledge is, No you cannot play BBC Radio of any kind in SL at the moment.

there are a few repeaters that take the BBC stream and reconfigure it for other formats, and TONS of places that archive it in mp3 format (if you don't mind day old news)

No, live streams are available as well. Here is a list:

MP3 Archives have to be streamed to SL via shoutcast etc so that does not really help. Do you have any helpful links to the places that have recast streams available for the OP as I did a quick Google and only managed to find recast-it yourself guides and not any actual streams?

OK, fair enough and thanks for the info - however as far as I know WMA and Real streams cannot be played in SL directly without being recast into a shoutcast compatible stream or am I wrong about that?
