My female alt has some sculpty boots and I'm having a hell of a time getting them to fit, talking to some of my female friends regarding shoes in general they've told me to adjust my feet, which I did and my alt ended up with shoe shaped feet, which look pretty damn hideous but heck I guess if she keeps the shoes on all is fine but is the same true of boots? should I adjust her legs to fit the boots because stretching the boots seems to make everything go very Pete Tong.

I have many outfits with prim parts that I tweak the shape a little bit. Get the prim stuff close and then fine tune by editing the shape. Just make sure you start with a shape that is copyable so you can "Save As.." and put a copy of it in the folder with all your outfits that also use those shoes.

Ciaran, I usually look at a demo pretty close, and if the fit of a pair of boots is way off on my calves, I just have to pass them by because fitting is so difficult.
If I just *have* to have them a few things before I adjust my shape. Wearing something on the sock layer the same color and height as the boots (assuming I am wearing them with a skirt) can help. Sometimes I can get by with a slightly imperfect fit that way. If wearing them with pants, and the pants are mod, I make a copy and then make them as tight fitting as possible, or adjust the length up near the top of the boot and then combine with the sock approach I mentioned before. Another option, if you can, is to link an invisiprim to the calf piece and use it to hide the leg. I have some boots that came from the creator with both an invisiprim and non-invisiprim option. It's not ideal to have invisiprim around the calf because of all the other troubles they create, but if they are relatively small they can get the job done with a minimum of damage. Beyond that, I would adjust the legs a little and save a shape just for that item, but generally if I can't get something to fit without changing my shape I give up and buy something with a better fit. _____________________

This is my thinking, I mean how long should one have to fiddle to get something to fit. One of my female friends gave me resizer script which has made it all easier but I am sure I read that resizer scripts are laggy. Thanks guys (girls) for the feedback, much appreciated. |

If a resizer is helping, then keep playing with it and see if you can get a good fit that way. Resizers only create trouble if you leave them in after you are done resizing. If you have a copy of the script, resize until your heart in content and then just delete the scripts. You can always put it back in if you need to adjust them again.
I mean how long should one have to fiddle to get something to fit. Depends entirely on how AMAZING you would look if you could wear it. ![]() Good luck! ![]() _____________________

Yes. You pretty much need to resize your legs in order for the boots to fit correctly. Otherwise you will look like you are wearing gigantic boots. I freaked out the first time I wore a system shoe that made my foot look like it went through a pencil sharpener. But it did look good in them heels!

Once you start adjusting your shape to better fit fashion items and skins, where you do you stop?
I've said it before, I will say it here: Never adjust your shape for a skin, it should compliment your shape not make it look weird. Never adjust your shape for clothes because people make all kinds of frankenbarbie sized accessories which often do not fit the more realistically normal/proportioned avatars. My avatar is personal to me. Adjusting my shape to fit the creations of others, alters that essence which makes it me. Yea.. I know, I am crazy like that...can't help it. _____________________

I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want, an adorable pancreas?

In my post - I was not suggesting you make vast, sweeping alterations to your shape. I was just suggesting that once you get it close, making a minor little adjustment to the body (that doesn't really show as a change in you at all) can often help eliminate that last little bit of poke-through at different camera distances and so on.
For shoes - making a pair of socks that are the same color as the base of the shoe can help too. |

I took your post that way Rygel, just a bit of fine tuning
The advice was appreciated. |

to contribute to the absurdity of it all, the average female av is over 6 feet tall with sliders well above the 50% mark, but the female average shoe size is made for size 0 feet.... go figure =/
