HI all. the premium account gives 300L a week. Most houses to rent are above this. So I was thinking about sharing with a roommate. It wouldn't be bad someone who doesn't live in european timezone, this way we won't disturb eachothers privacy every time. And in any case, I figured, I am offline 90% of the time, who put money in an empty place ? Just an idea of mine. Any suggestions ???

People do it all the time, Veronique. Just make sure that you have someone reliable who will pay their share. But honestly, you need to shop a little more for places, because there are lots of places that charge less than 300/wk.

Hell I know a place that charges $150 a week for a nice little place. I believe you can have up to 100 prims also. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you the LM in game

This sounds incredibly cheap. You can always send me the LM.

I bought land last year but it's awful. Nothing but commercial signs around me and not such a big land, the maximum that I could have without renting above it. So renting sounds better atm.

Roommates are a great solution in SL - I split the rent with 2 friends in different time zones. We rarely bump into each other. This is the second place we've rented together, too.

two ideas ...

1) Go skywards. I have a 512 mainland plot and while what's on the ground around me is not that bad at the moment, I enjoy the privacy of being up high.

2) Rent out your land and use the proceeds towards renting somewhere nicer for yourself (and a friend, if you like).

True....you get a free 512 plot with the premium acct.

You can get a free house and put it on there. Voila.

(You do have to find and buy a 512 parcel first, though. But then that's the last you will put $L out for that land. yay)

I have a thread from some time ago about finding a 512 parcel; people posted a lot of helpful tips in there. It's in this forum somewhere. :)
