What is the best parachute

So I have the Terra III Pro, and I luv it, but I was jumping with some guys last night and noticed some of them had different parachutes. So what is the best parachute out there?

I use the Terra III pro as well and love it. It's got a nice range of colors and textures and is easy to use. I thnk it is the best one out there, even if it is the only one I've tried

My only advice is: don't borrow Trout's.

I heard his opens on impact.

Below is a brief review of two others plus the Cubey parachute. Personally, I think the Timeless flies the best and the MOAB looks the best. Cubey's is very good as well. It's the first one I heard of, I'm sure is the most used, and has the most toys.

If anyone knows of any parachutes for free/sale not listed here, please let me know.



Timeless Parachute v1.0.51:

Perms: Copy, No Mod, No Transfer.

Rig: Looks good. Seems a bit too big though. No built-in ability to change size.

Freefall: Looks good and comes with nice freefall animations.

AAD: Yes. You can turn it on and off but I don't think you cat set the height.

No-pull animation: Yes, but doesn't seem to work if you hit an object.

Canopy: Looks good except that the cells are open in the back. Also, no trailing pilot chute.

Canopy flight: Nicely done and fairly realistic (i.e., pressing down flares instead of flies backwards). Has mouse-look steering. You can cut away.

Landing: No penaltly for not flaring.

Landing Target: None that I'm aware of.

MOAB Base Rig 1.0

Perms: Copy, Mod, No Transfer.

Rig: Looks good. No built-in ability to change size.

Freefall: Seems to come with basic belly-to-earth freefall animation only.

AAD: No, it's a BASE rig.

No-pull animation: Yes, a good one.

Canopy: Looks good, back of cells are actually closed off as they should be. Also comes with trailing pilot chute.

Canopy flight: Not bad. Has mouse-look steering. You can go backwards in mouse-look which isn't realistic. No ability to cut-away (it's a BASE rig).

Landing: It tells you how hard you hit. If too hard, you crash land.

Landing Target: Yes, it comes with one. Plus, it seems to work with the Cubey target.

Other: Comes with dialog menu system to change colors, smoke effects, wind effects, report velocity, and deploy/pack canopy so it can be edited on the ground.

TerraSport III PRO

Perms: No Copy, No Mod, Transfer.

Rig: Looks good. Earlier version had built-in ability to change size but I don't see it with this one.

Freefall: Looks good and comes with nice freefall animations via the altimeter.

AAD: Yes. It can be on or off. It can open the parachute and/or provide altitude warning.

No-pull animation: Yes, with blood.

Canopy: Looks ok. Cells are too flat. No trailing pilot chute.

Canopy flight: Not bad. Has mouse-look steering. You can go backwards in mouse-look which isn't realistic. Could cut away in earlier version, but apparently not in this one.

Landing: If you don't flare, you'll crunch the landing.

Landing Target: Yes. I can't remember if it comes with one though.

Other: Comes with altimeter which looks good and works well. Has supporting accessories: jump tracker, smoke, and skyboard. Most well-known. If you go somewhere with a skydive target, it's almost always going to be a Cubey one. Dialog menu system for changing colors/fabric. Can auto log your jumps on Cubey's web site.

I'm still looking for someone to make the animation for Trout's Looney Toonz Chute...where you pull and all sorts of stuff comes out of the pack. Everything but a parachute. It should include frantic flailing on the part of the user, a terrible pancaking impact, and an anvil hitting you on the head just as your av sits up.

MOAB is definitly the best !

principal features are :

detect freefall very quickly ( jumping under 100m is possible)
very smooth mouselook handling
tracking hability ( flying forward )
360 hard turns

MOAB demos are avalaible in Booville in the free SOAR chute dispenser
