You want Upload Image (or Bulk Upload if you have a bunch). Then, in SL, Edit Appearance, create a new shirt and set your image as the texture.
Take a look at the tutorials in the Wiki http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clothing_Tutorials. |

You upload the texture, then go into Appearance and choose Shirt > Create New Shirt. Click the Fabric window, then browse for the shirt texture and select.
You can also open the Inventory window and choose the Create > Create New Shirt option, but you'll still need to wear it and go into Appearance to apply the texture. _____________________

I don't know why you don't have that option. anyway, if i want to be a fashion designer, how do i be a successful entrepreneur? as in.. i dont know how to go about doing it.. like even if i design my clothes, how is that going to make me successful? how do i make my product known? do i buy land and set up a shop? pls help! I have to say, there are people who have been in SL for years and are still trying to figure that out. Most content creators do what they do because they enjoy it, not because they're looking to be super successful or make tons of money. _____________________

here is the sticky in the design and textures forums about clothing tutorials. Hopefully that works out for you and you have some products so you can move on to actually starting a business. |

if you are not clear on what developing a product line is, then either you need to learn English, or stop trolling, or do some web based research
If you do not know what marketing means (and I do not mean how to market, the best ways etc) but just what marketing means, then you should not be even attempting this endeavor until you have done more research I am sorry if I sound crass or mean, but there are a lot of experienced folks in SL trying to get ahead, and do not look kindly upon folks who want it all handed to them with a smile. _____________________

ahh k stage 8: become jaded as profits decline in the wake of ever increasing competition. If you hit stage 8, you were never suited to run a biz anyway. Facing your competition is something every biz must do, RL or SL. |

Is it just me or has "entrepreneur project" become the new way to say, "do my work for me?" Business in SL is just like business in RL, it takes investment, research, patience and skill. But a lot and a lot of research.
We have loads of great information in either tutorials in the texture and building forums, or the knowledge base. Torley puts out a lot of really neat tutorials that cover a lot of the basics and you can also find classes inside SL to learn from. Oh, and the reason you might not be able to upload? Well, it takes L$10 to do so... Edit: And yes, for some idiotic reason the bulk tends to stay lit regardless... _____________________

I think it is possible that you might be saving the texture in a format not recognized by SL? Try saving it as a .png or some other format that SL can recognize (a list should come up when you click on upload)

I think the OP's main question, is "Why is the Upload Image (along with Upload Sound and Upload Animation) greyed-out on the menu?" It shouldn't be greyed-out. That is a technical issue for which he will have to submit a support ticket.
I had a friend who was unable to Build or right-click and Edit anything, ever, because the Build button and the edit sub-menu was always greyed-out no matter where he was, even in public sandboxes where build was enabled. It took me months to work out that his problem was a technical issue. He never did get it resolved, by the time I realised it was something he needed to submit a support ticket for, his interest had waned, and in the end he quit SL. I guess it's not that interesting if you're unable to actually create anything. _____________________

Do you have any L$?
![]() a L$0 balance might cause those menu items to be unavailable. _____________________

Do you have any L$? a L$0 balance might cause those menu items to be unavailable. Wouldn't that also make the Bulk Upload unavailable as well? |
