I'm looking through the land sales and found a lovely mountain top marked "TO BUY" (capitals too). When I got there and checked out the description, it says you MUST set up tier payments. If you don't, the owner reclaims the land and keeps your money! Well, this isn't to buy, this is to rent! And what a horrible way to treat a new customer. What if their internet goes down?
I consider this person or company dishonest, untrustworthy and believe their ad to be abuse within the classifieds... Is it? And what if there was both a 'Land Sales' and 'Land Rentals'? Would people still be posting rentals in the sales category?

Was this mainland or a private estate? That sounds very much like a land transaction on an estate.

- Jolan Nice trolling attempt. 1/10 Anyway if you are anywho serious, you can separate mainland from estates in the search.

- Jolan I have seen that a lot. Most times it is from a German seller. So perhaps something is getting lost in the translation. There has been a lot of discussion of why estate listing are in a land sales search when you cannot buy them. So, in a sense, LL is guilty of misleading people also. Or at the very least, confusing them.

You have to pay tier basically everywhere unless you meet a very nice land owner who gives you land tier free.
The only exception is your first 512M of mainland, but then you need to be a premium member so you're paying a fee, albeit you get some of that back with the stipend.

This is precisely what happens when you buy mainland too. I doubt LL will accept an AR of themselves though.

OP had a legitimate concern. I think technically Lilly's comment was a flame, not a troll.

I am still very concerned about these estate owners that get away with displaying 1L$ cost land but when the avatar tp's there, its not 1L$, its several thousand. My regions were set at 1L$ but then I get almost no tp traffic. I have to set it at a cost...in order to get people to see what the island offers. That to me needs to be fixed along with separating Estate and Mainland better with 2 different windows preferable.
While LL is at it maybe have a better search function for the land sales - so one can locate a 4096 for 40,000L or less, (not 40,0000 or more). Right now you can only search from the minimum amount, not a maximum amount.

Not quite the same but often for-sale land is described wrongly - like 'roadside' when it's not, or 'flat green' when its a rocky cliff. But it's not necessarily the seller deliberately misleading, it might be they haven't changed the details from the previous vendor.
