Anyone aware of a site that gives average pay rates for jobs in SL? I was looking for what a club manager might expect to earn. Any ideas anyone?

it depends on what all they are handeling and what is expected of them and of course an approximate on how many hours would be put in per day and per week

at one time my best friend was a events manager for a top 5 club and was paid $4kL per week and paypalled $rl every week also but she worked 12 hours a day 7 days a week doing 5 events per day sunday thru thursday and 6 events 14 hours a day on fridays and saturdays

Wow, that's more time than a full-time job, and for 15 US dollars a week.

I just hope she got more out of it than money!

The club owner in most cases doesn't even make enough to pay tier. Let alone make a profit on their own time invested.

So they certainly cant afford to pay a manager all that much.

i know that besides the $4kL she got about $150 rl per week but it was still taxing and time consuming so it only lasted a few months

and hours like that lead to a quick burnout no matter how fun sl can be lol

Yes, I was surprised the other day when someone I know confessed that her fairly busy SL club made her no profit at all. Considering the number of hours she puts in, it seems a fairly rotten return on time invested. Other motives may be at play - dunno.

Clubs are for fun, or at least should be. There are enough that if you charge a cover too get in, they'll go somewhere else, and the only real income possible is for advertisement or rental of 'private' rooms.... which aren't always going to be used anyway... unless you have good traffic you won't sell your ad space, and there are enough free sex places that the rooms probably don't offer too much unless they are truly amazing...

So for a new club, its impossible to make profit, and for an old club, still quite hard.

Most are run off of the owners pocket, and what donations they get, and if they are paying DJs and hosts and whatnot, therei s almost certainly no profit to the owner

I'm an event host. Based on my pay and what I know managers make, you don't want to do it for the money. I enjoy it and do it strictly for the fun. If I did it for the money, I'd be very unhappy.

One club with which I was acquainted did not pay its managers but rather provided skybox space for a home in the sim with approximately 400-600 prims.

I know a well known content creator who pays her Customer Service staff the equivalent of 7 Dollars an hour, 20 hour avg per week. That's like a RL part time job. But I think thats probably the exception rather than the rule. Not many content creators can afford to pay that much.
