How do I hide a group listing on my profile |

hi! I joined a group that I don't want publicly on my profile. I clicked on the group page and said for it not to be listed on my profile (I thought that is what it meant) but when I went back to my profile- it was still listed. how do I hide this on my profile? Thanks for your help!

You'll always be able to see your own groups in your profile.

It's never going to be hidden when you look at your own profile. That would make it too difficult for you to find and edit your own group memberships. But it will be omitted when other people look at your profile.

It's never going to be hidden when you look at your own profile. That would make it too difficult for you to find and edit your own group memberships. But it will be omitted when other people look at your profile. Yeah!! Now I can join my naughty, naughty group!! |

It would be nice if hidden groups displayed in a different color text when you look at your own profile. I'll vote for that if you post a JIRA issue for it. Question: Does a hidden group become un-hidden if you put on that group's tag, and then take it off later? _____________________

No, the group remains hidden though, wearing that tag in public pretty much advertises your group membership unless the tag is fairly obscure. So, you have to be a bit more concious of your active tag if you truely want them to be hidden away. |

Tell you what, create an alt,then look at it from the alts point POV, that will answer your question once and for all...then go have fun with the alt! _____________________
