Is it me or have the rendering shortcuts stopped working?

ctrl-alt-shift-5 for instance. Seems to say it's 8 now to remove ground but neither work?

Help

You may get more replies if your subject is a little less vague.

Rendering shortcuts working fine for me. Do you have your Client activated? Those shortcuts only work if it is, IIRC.

IIRC = "If I Recall Correctly"

Activate Client = The SL debug client should be activated (CTRL+ALT+D)

I think the Client Menu shortcuts work even if the menu isn't showing.

Shipper, are you on the new voice client? I could have sworn someone said something about the shortcuts changing on it, so that now instead of 5 you would hit F5 (so ctrl-alt-shift-F5). Something to do with the previous shortcuts conflicting with some European keyboard setups for typing diacritics, maybe?

The easiest way to verify this is to turn on the Client menu and check the shortcuts listed there.

I am on the latest voice client and the menu has changed. It now sayd for instance ctrl-atl-shift -8 for ground but that does not work, neeither does F5 or F8.

ctrl-alt-shift-7 works and takes water out.

I have the client / server options enabled.

Any idea's?

Types > Ground doesn't remove ground like you'd expect.. it removes the layer that seems to just serve as a horizon between the sky and the actual ground. Types > Surface Patch removes the ground. The behavior is still the same as I remember it being a while back. Also I can confirm the shortcuts are Ctrl+Alt+Shift+8 and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+5.

Either way, not working. I need the non-voice client

And I forgot, it is true the Debug menus need to be enabled for the shortcuts to work (Ctrl+Alt+D). Using the latest viewer here.

Shipper, I think you are confusing "ground" with "surface patch". The surface patch is the ground you actually see beneath your feet, and is still #5. The ground (#8) is actually what you see in the horizon, below the sky, and you won't see it unless you are up in the sky or maybe underwater.

(ETA: I am slow... I see while I was answering that someone already told you this!)

I just checked my voice client, which I only have on my laptop. I'm on a Mac, so this may be different on the Windows client (I know 'cmd-opt' is normally replace by 'ctrl-alt' on Windows). The "types" shortcuts (cmd-opt-shift-#) are all still the same and work as they should. The "features" shortcuts are now all cmd-opt-F#. On my laptop the F-keys serve double duties (like brightness and volume adjustment), so I need to add in the 'fn' key... so it becomes fn-cmd-opt-F#, which then works just as the menu shortcut says it should.

Oops, I just checked and you are right about that. I got confused because so many people accidently turn on "Show Updates", but claim they were unaware of the Client menu. I assumed that meant they didn't have it turned on.

I think it may be a new behavior:

From: Release Notes for 1.18.1(0) July 20, 2007
Shortcut keys for menu items in the Client & Server menus are now disabled if the menus are hidden.
