What do you do when you can't log in to SL?

Those of us "of a certain age" will remember this used to happen on Wednesdays and that usually the down-time for SL would extend well beyond the predicted downtime stated on the LL website; and after each forced update things would break and would be slightly dodgy for a day or so. So, what does everyone do when they are unable to log in because of grid issues? Perhaps this can help people spend the time and avoid unable-to-login-rage  Here's my list: - - RL things: very important! - I go window-shopping on XStreet SL; actual purchases are disabled when SL has problems, but that doesn't stop me browsing for things I would like and I save the URLs of the products for later  - I come here and read/contribute - I post on some other forums linked to activities I'm involved with in-world - I read various blogs about SL In short, there is plenty to do, and while it is very frustrating not to be able to log in, things are generally better than they used to be during the times of the regular downtime/forced updates. |

Assuming I still wanted to do something vaguely connected with SL rather than playing with the cats or doing aerobics, when SL main grid is unavailable I: Try the Beta Grid Come on the forums Update my Flickr SL pics Make textures Go on one of the SL clones like OL or OS Log in to my standalone island (can't do that any more as it broke  ) |

Looks like 80% of the answers have to do with continual sitting at the computer. I go outside and breath fresh air or run, or read a book. Or sit back and watch a movie. SL isn't going anywhere for the time being....at least, until it grows too perfect..................I do sometimes XStreet shop, so many nice things...so little money... LOL

To be truthful, it's been a long time since I couldn't get in when I wanted to so I really can't say. I'd probably do something in RL, play with my dog, watch tv, listen to an audio book, go out somehwere, go to bed, it all would depend on what time of day it was.

I do all kinds of things in the meantime. it just depends on when the logins are borked, and how hungy i am to be able to login. (sometimes i NEED to login, because of deadlines.)

I sew alot though rl. Love to. I guess this reflects into SL since I took to making clothes here as well.. What I do rl when sl is borked is .... well it depends ..mostly sew, read, instruct children on the proper way to wash dishes.... and or clean a toilet.. I draw.. paint.... pick up a guitar turn on the radio and pretend to be a rock star.... dance around in my undies singing... "we are the champions!" check forums... check ebay.... list auctions... But lately I have not had the oppertunity to do this as sl has been pretty steady and on, aside for today.. But then again I was gone all day so I only missed it for about an hour. lol |
