I just want to donate land to group and I can't figure out how to do it. I already pay the tier and don't own any individual land. Thanks.

You need to deed it and tick the "owner makes contribution" box, but why are you doing this?

So does that mean I need to purchase it myself first and then deed it rather than buy for group?

First things first, is it mainland or estate? I thought you already had the land, if you haven't purchased the land yet then it's a different process.

I just figured it out. And to answer your question, it's mainland that I did not own yet.
I realized that I had to go into Group profile and donate more land tier credits. Then it worked. Thanks for the help.

If I bought it first, it raised my tier $10.00 more per month than if I just donated what I already paid for so that's why I wanted to do it that way.

Heres another group land question...since we're going with the theme. :)

Three people buy two parcels a piece near each other on the mainland (6 total)

These three people make a group, donate all of their land to this group, and combine it into one big parcel.

One of these people purchased more land yesterday. She made two more 512 parcel purchases, and when she went to deed the land she discovered that not only she couldn't, but the two parcels she donated before were no longer available to the group, thus leaving the group negative -1024.

She later discovers she 'can't buy more land' because she pays her account monthly (what a stupid rule!), but this opens a ton of questions for me for future referance.

If members paying a monthly account can only own 1024 of land, how could she buy 1024 more? What happens to the land if she can't really 'own' it, and if she can't does she get her $L back? Does the old seller get the land back? Do the Lindens gget it?

What do we do fix the group? Is there a way to unjoin the parcels and join them again without the two that she donated to keep the group out of the negative? I figure there is, I just don't know how yet.

That sounds very odd. My first thought is that she removed the tier from the group in order to buy the 2 new 512s without increasing her tier. That would leave the group short of 1024s worth of tier.

I've never heard that a person can't own as much land as they like, regardless of whether or not it's a monthly account, so I suggest that she's misunderstood something.

I was thinking the same thing Phil said... sounds like the person who did the buying got the msg this will up your tier, so took tier back from the group to buy the land, which left the group short

as for the paying by the month, that is a new one to me...

could it be she got the msg about not being able to buy more land without increasing tier and misunderstood it?

sounds a bit confusing.

I thought it was weird too....I was under the impression as long as I paid LL the monthly 'land fee', and buy the land, I can own as much as I want.

Hmmm...I will investigate and report back later. :)
