Some of the more asute SL members have pointed out that Abbots Aerodrome is adjacent to Cordova Sandbox.
Is there a map or spreadsheet that shows all of the regions, and thier relation to other regions. Also if they are private or mainland.
When I first arrived I got the impression that there was three types of land, Mainland, Islands and private land. Now I see the Islands and Private Lands are interchangable.
Thanks, "G"

I saw the land sales map but is doesn't name the regions. A spreadsheet of that grid with region names and an indicator of Private or Main would help me wrap my mind around the size of SL. The big map while Inworld only shows the immediate area and also doesn't provide region names. "G"

"G" It provides region names in the bottom left of the region when zoomed in to I believe around like 12 regions visible, and you can zoom it out pretty far.. a whole map of the SL world would be huge laid out Over I think like 5000 regions hon =P

"G" You can zoom out and/or drag the map about to see other areas of SL, and that map does display region names in the bottom left corner. It's not that great in seeing the 'bigger picture' of course, as the sims all vanish when you zoom out too far. I remember a couple of residents had produced really good sim maps a couple of years ago, but to do so now would be an impossible task; once drawn up, it would be out of date almost immediately! I imagine sims are being added around the clock.

Somebody good at coding could probably fish out all the info and stuff it into a spreadsheet. See: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/MapAPI . Over I think like 5000 regions hon =P Over 11,000 regions right now.. http://secondlife.com/whatis/economy_stats.php

The best map I've been able to find is at NCI.
Fishermans Cove 72, 226, 26
I was actually able to find out the name of the Mainland continent I live on. Hope that helps. If anyone knows of a better one, let us know.

From: Okiphia Rayna EDIT:: Seems that is just islands too, so it may be 11.4k, plus all the mainland regions o.o The stats from Meta Linden off the economic stats page show the grid as being 871 km2 (total) back at the end of September. My math may be toast today, it's Monday you know, but I figure that to be 13,290 regions. Since that data is from the end of September, I'm guessing you're right and that the the 11k number is just private islands. /me figures that many private islands just at the old US$195/month tier and eeps.

Wow over 11,000? How many run on a single server? Just curious as to how many computers in total are responsible for keeping SL running.
