hiya all

i don't know if anyone can help me but im having trouble TPing around SL. Ever since i updated my SL viewer to 1.23.5 ive had this problem. So then i changed my viewer to the Green Emerald viewer and its still happening.

I first thought it mite of been the fact i had so much stuff on like Armbands, Armwarmers, Glasses etc so i tuck them off but again still couldn't TP consistently.

Ive cleared my cashe, ive even reinstalled both viewers but still doesn't TP all the time and it allways happens when im trying to get back to the land i own. Either tells me the sim is full witch with some sim that can be true but but my own land only me and a friend lives there but most of the time i get

"could not Teleport you to the parcel
please try again in a timely fashion"

or something like that

Stacy, I've also found TPs to be much slower than usual since installing the latest viewer. What about your friend - is he/she experiencing similar problems?

If I understand you correctly, TP failures (as opposed to merely slow TPs) only happen when you try to go home. You mention that only the two of you live on your land; what about the sim as a whole? Is there a club that gets high traffic? Most sims are full with 40 people and won't allow anyone else in; even with 20 or so, some sims will become very sluggish. This aside, it sounds as if you've done all the right things. The only other thing I can suggest is resetting your home location. I don't mean changing sims or anything drastic: just moving a couple of meters away and resetting.

If it isn't due to occasional high traffic in your home sim and the problem persists, perhaps you should contact Support; if you're a premium member you have the option of Live Chat.

Maybe the tech mavens can come up with some other suggestions.

Hope this helps :)

Sometimes when that happens, going to another sim first helps.

hiya =)

yes tps fail but i do get the odd slow tp now and again but the failed tps are mostly when i try going home but it does happen else were as well.

were the only people that currently live on the sim so and there's no club or anything so its very low traffic =)

i will reset my home tp location on the land and ill get back to you on if it worked =)

It could well just be a problem with the sims between which you're trying to TP. For the last couple of weeks, for example, TPs into and out of one particular sim in Zindra have been problematic for me and everyone else I've spoken to.

Are you wearing a lot more scripted attachments than normal -- erhaps some resizeable/recolourable hair you've just bought? That's a TP-killer if it's badly scripted.

And it's always worth logging out and rebooting your cable modem by disconnecting it from the power source and reconnecting three or four minutes later. Spike Linden (who knows everything) once suggested this to me as a fix when I was having huge problems TP-ing anywhere and none of my friends were, and gave me a lengthy technical explanation of why this can cure the problem. It works for me more often than not, if attachments aren't the cause.

Solutions I've found to TP problems:
1) TP to mainland first, then subsequently to where you want to go.
2) Detach any scripted items, huds, and especially high-prim items such as prim feet, jewelry.
3) Log out and log in to the region you want to go to.
4) Walk around, sometimes just walking a few meters makes a difference.
5) Ask a friend there (if you know someone) to summon you. Don't know why but sometimes this works.

Hope that helps.

i have trouble tp were ever i go 90% of the time ever since i updated my sl viewer. it wuz fine before even with loads of stuff on like prim hair. jewellery with fussy bits on them, clothing with lots of add ons scripted stuff, huds etc and i could tp with no trouble but since ive updated it it fails almost every time.

im on a pc that's linked up to the main pc and i have a very strong connection every time i never crash unless it SL's fault either with restarts and i don't get out in time or if i get stuck in the middle of a tp

I'm open to correction here, but I don't really see how a new client could affect TPs, since the reason TPs fail is that it takes too long for the simulator you're on to hand you over to the new one -- that is, pass the new one all the data it needs about you, what you're wearing, what you've got in your inventory and so on.

As I recall, the reason for rebooting the cable modem is that your connection can take you into the grid through a variety of entry points -- which one it chooses is pretty much random, but then it keeps it until it's forced to change. If there's a problem somewhere on the grid between the centre through which you've entered and the various simulators, then that can make things more likely to time out.

It's not a question of how often you crash -- that's generally to do with what's happening on your pc. Rebooting the modem is worth a try, anyway, and can't do any harm.

ive changed my home spot on my men and my friend land and worked for a short time but then stopped working.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr =( you pay LL for lindens and tiers then they give you this crap service and viewer and don't do anything if you report a problem lol

Hi Stacy

I'm sorry nothing has worked for you. I think, since you're premium, you should either raise a ticket, or take advantage of the Live Chat option in Support. If you click on the Support link above you'll find the Live Chat link on the new page.

Hope they can help you.

Live chat has been a relatively good route in my experience.
