There is a similar thread about this in technical issues but there don't seem to be any replies. Since I'm of course utterly desperate to log in, I thought I ask here.
I just tried to log in, got to the handshake screen and then crashed. Now when I try to launch the viewer (standard viewer) it just goes to the crash logger.
Downloaded a fresh copy and tried reinstalling but then start getting dozens of error messages about the installer not being able to open certain files, starting with Mozilla files. I'm guessing perhaps this might have something to do with Firefox?
Can anyone shed any light on this?
The program was running fine last night. I've rebooted since.

I suggest powering down your entire system, the computer, router, modem etc.
Not just a reset, an actual power off.
Record the exact error messages and give them here.
See what your seccondlife.log file says.
Try a different version of SL.
