If the owner of the group had a co owner then the co owner can delete the group......if more that one then anyone of those could close it (but the polite thing to do would be to get a concensus amoug all the owners). Members cannot close a group but they can leave the group. You can try getting LL to delete it though I don't really think they will as long as there are members (baring the group being in violation of the TOS.....which can and will delete). Might try talking to fellow members about leaving that group and joining yours. I think that will do more to get what you want. Group IM or notice (if you can create group notices in the group)..........see what the others want before you ask LL to just delete a group. If everyone leaves a group it dies in a couple days.

What do you mean, "Ask this group to be removed"? Ask LL? If this group only has 1 owner, I think it will disappear on it's own in 48 hrs (or is it 24?). You can always create your own group, it only costs $L 100, but you need to have 2 members. You, and maybe an alt if you like.
*oops! What I meant was, if there is only one member left, it will automatically be deleted in a day or so. If everyone decides to leave the group - it will be deleted... |

In that case, create a new similar group, IM everyone from the first group telling them to leave (unjoin), then join your group!
Just make sure there is at least two of you in the new group before the end of the day or it will disappear in 48 hours. |

Unfortunately, if there is no way for you to get in touch with the original owner(s) because they 'no longer' exist, you're kinda stuck. As for IMing everyone in a group at the same time, instead of one by one, I think that only the owners, or those that have been given permission by the owners, can do this. Sorry.
How about using group chat to tell people about your new group. (If ever you need some info on how to create a new group, Torley has made a great Tutorial Video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E0Y2xLd3gk ************************************************* |

I've been in a group where the owner left SL and deleted their account, and where the only other officer was never on-line. That group continued to exist until after I left, and group membership dropped to one. (The Always Away remaining officer, who may have been a forgotten alt of the original group owner.)
