Am I missing something? I want to disable a few popup messages, but there's no "Disable" button, only an "Enable" button. I'm talking about the Edit Preferences/Popups tab...

Which ones do you want to disable - some are scattered in various places...

I want to disable the one about returning people's object. I don't want to have to click 'OK' everytime I return objects.

That one I don't think you can get rid of, it's an important fail safe against making what can potentially be a massive mistake (like returning hundreds of prims worth of waterfalls & trees, for example :o) If you have auto return on you won't get that message.

Things like money transactions can be shut down via a check box in preferences. Group notices can be turned off via the group information.

I'm talking about the blue info dialog that pops up AFTER I've returned objects... I still have to click "okay" to acknowledge that I've already returned stuff. Just sort of irritating is all. :)

Are the objects already completely gone when that box appears?

Yup. I had a griefer dump over a hundred physical objects on my land and I just returned all her objects to her. They no longer registered in About Land (autreturn set to 10 minutes, so I wanted to get rid of these things quickly.) Once they leave the parcel, I get the "you have just returned X items to X person" in a blue popup box (like the ones for money exchanges, group invites, etc). I just want to get rid of that box.

Interesting. One would think if there is an "Enable" button - there would have to be a "Disable" button - otherwise - why do you need an "Enable" button if it is mandatory?

I don't recall ever seeing that with auto-return on, so that may be the way to go for you if you are going to allow Build and Object Entry on your land.

No no no. I returned the items MANUALLY because auto-return was set to 10 minutes, to allow for honest people to unpack their boxes, stand on pose stands, etc. During the griefing, which happened while I was there, hundreds of objects kept popping in and self-replicating. I returned them manually in order to a)piss off the griefer by having this stuff return to her inventory and b)keep the sim from crashing. I didn't want to wait around for 10 minutes (the auto-return time) to see just how full a sim can get with self-replicating prims. Since the things were coming in waves, I just kept returning and returning (I was also bored that day.) I had to keep clicking "OK" to "You have just returned 145 items to X's inventory" which was highly annoying.

Ok, I get it now :)

I don't know of any way to disable those - there might be but it would likely be buried someplace where only level 15 geeks can find to edit. Might be worth noting down in Feature Requests for a check box....
