Hi SL folks,

I'm looking at buying the follow laptop configuration. My question will it run SL? My only concern is the Graphics configuration. If this laptop will not run SL very good is there a cheap 2nd choice. My HP TX2510us MB went to hell so I'm replacing it with something a little cheaper. Any help would be great.

Satellite L305-S5933 Laptop

"Cheaper" equals less performance. That laptop is going to be a headache for you. As long as you insist on a laptop you are going to be very disappointed with the cheaper models. $800 to $1000 is the range you are looking at for one that willl handle SL in a reasonably acceptable manner.

Sorry for the bad news.

It will not run SL well. Look for something with an Nvidia graphics controller. The 9400M is decent.

Run SL in LOW setting and you might be OK for camping with that lap top.

I wanted to buy a laptop for a friend for Christmas, the least expensive one I found that I would be happy with was around $1200. It would run about $800 to $900 today. She got a card :D

My first ever SL forums post as Phoenix.....

Became really good friends with Sydney Jacobs, the first to answer that post.

This has been a great help. It kept me from making a mistake. The graphics card info was good.
