I clicked one of those once, to see if it was actually a clickable link since the usual visual feedback for clickability (different cursor on hover) is missing.
It was. Seen no reason to click since. I wonder if most people are like me and won't bother, and if the words "adult content" will pique enough interest to overcome this so more than 10 additional people end up looking at the blog post. _____________________

If they were being fair and balanced, they'd say:
WARNING: if you sell or advertise sex or violence CLICK THIS LINK NOW: "http: // tr.im / feelthy stuff" But that might scare people. _____________________

Did you put that link to a porno site there on purpose or by accident?

Same and yes I doubt people will bother much. LL, really if they wanted people to accept this big rights rip off, should've intro'ed it slowly bit by bit. People could well flip right out when their mature land is downgraded all of a sudden. _____________________

The problem is, there won't be any visual indicator of Mature land's changed status, and most people won't even know anything has changed until the AR vigilante make their rounds (I guarantee every prude on the grid is aware of the changes). I hadn't imagined that actually but I expect you're right, why would LL make a huge issue if they are going to get flooded with requests for a land swap. I would like an efficient way to ban entire accounts not just a single av if I am left on mature and I've banned a thought copper I don't want it's alts hanging around. Also I think AR's from a banned av/account will carry a lot less weight. _____________________

I was always puzzled by the anti-AO crowd's insistence that LL announce the changes on the login banner. Perhaps I'm unusual but I honestly can't recall ever reading one of those banners before. When I heard here they'd changed it I had to log out and back in again and make myself watch it just to see. The thing flashed past so fast it seemed almost impossible for any normal person to notice it except possibly in their subconscious.

You're right. As far as I can see, the only ones this change is going to benefit are griefers and interfering busybodies. What price fair and just decisions on the resulting deluge of support tickets and ARs? The few Lindens (or outsourced call-centre non-LL staff perhaps) who have to deal with these are likely to be swamped trying to clear the backlog. It's certainly not going to make anyone's experience the least bit more "predictable" - and *that* was predictable from the outset. -- Aes |

I was always puzzled by the anti-AO crowd's insistence that LL announce the changes on the login banner. It's not so much "it needs to be in the login banner" as "it's not being shown anywhere more than a fraction of users will see it". _____________________

Has anybody noticed that when I asked them directly why they took this long to even bother to go that far, it's been met with an extremely loud silence? Somehow I knew that was going to happen.
Face it, we the residents of Second Life have been marginalized. We don't matter. |

I assume you mean people who are against Adult Content, and not avatars that walk like ducks... Guess I fit in both categories since I've never bothered wearing an AO and I'm against the other kind of AO as well. _____________________

They even Stole the JIRA issue about it
06-12-2009 05:40
is really amusing how they don't care about WE think about it... What was formerly JIRA issue MISC-2727 (the one that got the most votes ever - 4,41 , and its daughter technical issues MISC-2907 to 2911, have been shuffled off to a new category "Archive":http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/ARVD-1 The reporter was changed to Alexa Linden, and its been locked from comments. So now its become an active lie, Alexa was not the reporter of the issue, and she did not write the descriptions. |
