Teleporting help

I am a neebie and confused.
When I teleport everything is fine but then a second teleport window usually opens up and takes forever to move. I ususally cancel it and all works well.

I have searched for an answer but cannot find anything.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hmmm . . . There are a lot of ways to teleport. Each one acts a little differently. If you are using the big map, I don't see an additional window with that.

If you are using a landmark, are you right clicking or left clicking?

Left clicking the landmark opens one of those "Are you sure you want to teleport?" windows. You can check the little box that says, "Don't show me this again." I've never tried it. I like the "Are you sure" dialog. However that little window pretty much prevents anything else from happening until it's responded to.

Right clicking opens up either the same Teleport question above, or an About Landmark box from which you can see your destination on the big map. I find this very handy if I'm looking for company and I see a bunch of green dots on the map, or if I want solitude and I'm afraid to teleport into a big party going on.

Maybe you're talking about another teleport dialog though -- the kind where someone offers you a teleport. Those work differently, and it's been so long since anyone has asked me, I can't remember what they're like. . .

I remember a few people posting here about something similar -- cannot remember if it was a bug, related to lag, or related to the person's computer. Basically on some or most of their teleports, after they landed and thing started rezzing, they would automatically be popped right back into the teleport process (where the window blanks and you get the teleport status bar slowly creeping along) and the person had to hit cancel to kill the second teleport.

If that is what you are experiencing, try searching here, for posts within the last 3 monts roughly and you might find some answers. you could maybe even search Jira to see if there is a bug on it.

I have the same thing happen to me, I'll teleport somewhere start walking then screen just goes black with the teleport progress meter on it out of nowhere....

i just hit cancel and go about my business.. happens pretty much all the time. Im reinstalled and did most everything but for some odd reason it still pops up.

i just deal with it and hit cancel.

I just about never experience this, but I also do not use any of the newer clients, so it very well be at least partially related to the client. I think I would search Jira to see if there is a work around or something.

The Double Teleport was an old bug which I thought had been fixed some versions ago.

Are you running the latest SL client version?
