Does anyone know of a way to back up your inventory to your hard drive?

Unfortunately, there really isn't a way, Gwolf. The inventory is held on SL's servers and it never really leaves. You can't copy things. If you have pictures, textures, etc, you can pull those off and edit or just save them, but if they ever got lost, you would pay to re-upload them.

I wouldn't mind saving my inventory locally, considering the inventory loss issues SL has had, but you just can't do it at this point.

I have seen someone working on a way to do this for any full premission items only; I can't remember if it was finished or not. If you could do this with all items you have effectivly made the perfect copy bot and can steal any no copy/no transfer item you want.

You can back up items inworld to your harddrive in XML format and then reload them back into the world/grid

copybot is not *just* for stealing, it was MADE to be a backup tool, but then the crimanals gave it a bad name....

There is a way be one with anything your avatar sees but I don't know exactly how and I don't want to know.
But I know it can be used in ways that leads to theft.
That partially why there is so much theft already.
