Ok, I am familiar with streaming mp3s from my computer as I DJ in SL. But I'm now getting interested in live performance, in RL I am a pianist/singer and would love to perform. I need to know though what software I would need to record my music? I've never tried to record before onto a computer, I have a keyboard with USB.. I take it I would need to record it beforehand to mp3 so I can then stream it, or is it possible to stream it live as I play?

Hi Larissa,

Yes you can stream it live as you play

The best place to find information would be the forums of the SL music community. There's lots of information to be found there, FAQ's etc.... plus a whole bunch of very helpful people to answer any questions you may have. You can read the forums withour registering, but would need to sign up for free) to ask questions.

i just tried this the other night. i have a 16 track recorder so i can play guitar and have a drumbeat in it. what i did is feed one of the line outs to my sound card and tell winamp to play it back through shoutcast dsp plugin to my shoutcast server which people connected to.
