ok i have a problem maybe someone can help with, i made a picnic table and i didnt put any pose balls or any scripts in it . just made it from prims and that was it. so i click on it and chose sit from the pie menu.. i sit on the picnic table. this is on my land , i have a 5334 s.q.m plot . so i decide to drag the picnic table to the other side of my little island. cause i wanted to sit on it over there. so i get it over there and no matter witch way i do it . when i click on it and chose sit from the pie menu it says " no room to sit here, try another spot." so i try a different bench i made and it doesnt work either.. i drag it back to the previous side that does work and the bench works. i bought a chair that has a pose in it that when u sit on the chair it makes u sit a certain way but it has no pose ball to click on to sit.. u just click on the chair and sit.. now this one works where the ones i made doesnt.. im confused . i cleared cache and i am pulling my hair out. does anyone else have this problem and if so how do i fix it ? :(

Is there a sculptie nearby -- like a big rock or column? Sometimes those have boundaries way bigger than they appear. There's a way around it if that's the case.

Sometimes SL just acts up and won't let you sit where there's clearly a place for it. I still like to sit on things without pose balls or scripts. The couple of sit poses in my (human) AO are just a little different from the same ones you see everywhere in pose balls.

edit each individual prim that people can sit on and look at the general tab and change the left click dropdown to sit. it means you'll only get one av per seat but it will always be available for someone to sit on.

if you are not near enough to a prim without a sit script in it, you will get that msg

try moving closer (fly over to the bench) and try sitting on it there

Have you tried using Lex Neva's 'sit target' script to add a sit animation to the objects?

It's one of those great little full perm freebies that gets passed around in-world. Basically it involves setting the pose with a poseball while your av sits on it. Click the object when you're happy with the position and it will chat a little script which you drop into the root prim along with the required animation. The poseball is unnecessary after that.

I can drop you a copy of it if you want.

if there are mega prims around, they could be the cause of the problem, if the sit is "inside" this mega prim (maybe a sculpty mountain or something like that) it won´t work if you dont use scripts for the sit positioning.

that problem was introduced with havok 4, sidewinder fixed it for maybe 2 weeks, but it returned, i showed it to him after it returned, and he said he will fix it again, but he left LL before he could do it, so i guess it will stay FOREVER o0

:)
