Help please...i downloaded the restrained life viewer and when i clicked on the EXE file it didnt work...it stated there was an important file missing. So i gave up and just decided to log back into SL. However i cant get back in. Even before i can log on SL just crashes!!! I deleted the rlv files in the hope that would help but nothing. So i restarted my computer and still the same thing happens!!!! OMG im addicted to sl and will be pissed if this has corrupted the sl file. Please help!!! Should i just uninstall sl and start all over again????

I havent used rlv but it seems to me that u should have uninstalled it (just taking away the files is usually not a great way to delate a program...)

I should do as you suggest yourself. Uninstall and reinstall the SL-client. But I hope you realize that you wont have to 'start all over'..? You are just getting the client fixed...

I've not tried RLV, but with many of the third party viewers you need to copy certain files over to your main SL viewer directory. With that in mind:

If it was required to install RLV, did you copy the files into the main SL viewer directory that the installation help file told you to? (These copyable files usually include a new .exe shortcut to launch the RLV.) Usually, you need to do that, then you use the new .exe file rather than your old SL one.

If that was the case and you still couldn't get it to work, then that's also the reason why you can't re-launch your old SL viewer. When you install third party viewers in that manner, the files that you copy over to the SL directory *replace* the original SL viewer files, so you need to re-install your old SL viewer to get the original file versions back.

Someone who *has* used RLV will probably be along shortly to explain the process in more detail, but that's the experience I've had with other third party viewers.
