I am setting up a clothing store. I have read about Modify/Copy/Transfer and think I want to sell my items as Modify/Copy/No Transfer. My question is: where to I set the permission for Transfer? I don't see it as an option anywhere on the properties menu.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance

It will be there (called "Resell/Give away" with the other permissions but dimmed if you haven't enabled copy. Once you tick copy, the transfer box should be available to set.

Aplomb- besides welcome- consider both options-Copy No Trans and No Copy Trans. Make gifting so much easier- I have men's clothes I will not be wearing...

modify copy transfer if you click the box next to any of these words, those options will become available to the next owner. so, do not click the "transfer" button. however, you MUST choose between either copy or transfer, so one of those will have to be chosen. i believe it defaults to transfer, so make sure you check before setting for sale. (and modify is always optional, as well as the possibility of offering full perms by clicking all three).

Thank you all... for the nice welcome and replies. So I guess what I'm reading is that "Transfer" is really "Give Away." Well, duh, Aplomb. It didn't occur to me because the word "transfer" wasn't used and I just knew I didn't want the clothes to be re-sold. It seems as if ReSell and Give Away should be two different things, right? You should be able to give someone the right to give away but not use your creations for commercial purposes... And now I have another question! When I'm setting the permissions, I do so on each item---right?---but they are sold in a group with the rest of the outfit. So do I set each one as For Sale with the price of the entire outfit? For example, say I'm setting the permissions for a jacket and I set it "For Sale" under its Properties but it isn't being sold separately but with several other items...so do I leave the For Sale box unticked? or do I set it as the price for the whole bunch of items? Hope that question makes sense. Thank you!

From: Aplomb Pomilio It seems as if ReSell and Give Away should be two different things, right? You should be able to give someone the right to give away but not use your creations for commercial purposes... I guess, but something like that would be completely unenforceable in the software :/ If someone gives me money and I give them an item, how would the software ever tell the difference between that and an exchange of separate gifts? From: someone When I'm setting the permissions, I do so on each item---right? Yes, each one gets its own independent set of permissions (you're on your own to make them all match). From: someone ---but they are sold in a group with the rest of the outfit. Oh, well you can't set a non-prim item for sale. You would collect all the pieces into a folder, then push that into a prim, then sell copies of prim (or its contents).

One thing I learned today- the box you put your stuff into - if you go that route - you need to change what happens when you left-click- set it to Buy - so the people can buy it
