Hi everyone, new posting here.
My AV is stuck in a sim and can't be ejected it seems. I can't log back in either - I can only log in as another AV and watch myself standing around which is a bit weird.
Does anyone know how this problem can be rectified as I've received a few IMs from the sim owner who thinks I'm a copybot. I've replied via email, but am still appearing online. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ask the sim owner to send in a support ticket. They have to ask a Linden to restart their sim.
Tell them this is not your fault and you are not doing this on purpose.
Your log in is probably stuck.

If it's on a private sim, the sim owner can restart the sim. If it's a mainland sim, what Melita said.

Yep, have sent a message to the Sim owner and will await their response. Not sure if she/he's online at the moment as I'm at work and can only send IM's through email. I logged onto this website with an alt AV who has me friended and could see I was still registered as 'online'. Such a nuisance - all I wanted to do was buy a rug when my av went all weird on me and refused to move. I tried to tp out of the sim - I thought this would rectify the problem but I got stuck in TP mode, couldn't do anything, so just shut the browser. Since then I've been unable to log in and have remained online. Annoying!! Thanks for your advice - I shall wait and see what happens.

It's called ghosting, and it isn't rare. It's not very common but it's not rare.

I've heard it said that paying the ghosted av L$1 - or sending it an email, which hasn't worked for you - sometimes jolts the server into sorting itself out, but I can't vouch for the validity of this.

Ah! I haven't tried sending my AV an email yet - although I'm not sure if I can as I have no offine messages to respond to. I did try sending some inventory items from my other AV last night but I didn't try bribery . I'll give it a go if the problem persists. Won't really be able to log on for another 7 hours or so ... gotta get a hard day's work outta the way first! But I hope by the time I log on the problem is resolved. If not I'll log on as my other AV and try pushing her around a bit lol.

Been in the same situation for 3 days now. Sim owner has not been online since August 2009, no signs of life from Linden support. How long do they usually take to answer a ticket? Should I start thinking my avatar is lost?

The lady who owned the store contacted the sim owner who restarted the sim - and I'm now no longer a ghost. So a big thank you to all of you and your great advice! )

Maybe you could try IM'ing the owner anyway - it could be possible that IM's go to their email. If not I'd say keep trying with Linden support.
