I am a cloud since last night...I can see sl..my house..my partner..everything..he can see me as my ava..BUT to me I appear as a cloud.
I have removed cache...uninstalled Secondlife and re-installed..but still the same..HELP
I have just noticed i cant click on myself for appearance..its greyed out...and also greyed in view

There are a couple of things you can try.
1. Detach and/or Take off EVERYTHING, and also wear a different skin, shape, eyes, and system hair. If that works, put things on one at a time and see if you re-cloud. If you do, that item is probably corrupted.
2. Enable the Advanced menu in the top bar with CTRL+ALT+D. Then navigate to Advanced/Character/Character Rendering Tests/Test Female (or Test Male). That will give you the default newbie avatar. From there, put on your normal items one at a time.

From: Toni Finchy I have removed cache... Does this mean you manually deleted the 'cache' folder? For some stupid reason, the "clear cache" option only sort of works -- if you really want cache cleared, you need to manually delete the folder from your hard drive.

Eli suggested I change my group tag when this happens to me, and mot of the time that does the trick.
But if it doesn't, If i TP home i will materialize, and then I can TP back to wherever I had just been and move on with my SL happily.

We got it fixed...the advanced menu > character > character test > test female worked... Just had to reattach/wear her shapes and skins and clothes after  Thanks! Steph and Toni |
