Trap for bots

Hello people,

I was thinking if it's possible to get (or maybe someone can build) some kind of trap for bots. Could be a fake camp chair or dance pad, so the bot sit on it and "real" avis can shoot him/her (when you shoot the bot, you kick off the land).

I guess that would be a nice attraction for people who is sick of the bots.

I made a camping spike (a la Vlad) but no bots yet, so any tips would be most appreciated.

ROFLMAO! So...bot sits down on camping bench, bot-watcher tries to speak to bot which naturally, as bots are wont to do, does not respond. Said bot-watcher pulls out an AK-47 and KAPLOOOEY! Bot splot.

Well if LL needs the traffic numbers all that bad, maybe they should pay for it. Make a "Bot Island" with unlimited high-pay chairs. Keep them away from people who want to play.

Thats a good idea also, caught all the bots of the SL world and put in a bot island. They can live happily forever dancing or relaxing in hundreds of chairs.

But hey, what about the idea of a trap for bots. Would be nice for trainning battle sims.

A simple version of this was done a while back, can't remember who did it, but it attracted bots for only a few days, then they quit coming. Actually he probably succeeded in getting them off his land, which was the ORIGINAL plan, but it was so much fun blastin the bots, that instead he changed it to, Buy Pass to shoot the bots (admission fee), which was still cheap & I loved it.

I say go for it. If I had an island, I would definitely set apart a small area for this. The bots won't make any L$, it's too tempting for human Residents to TP over & blast 'em. More fun that even Drift or Die, or any other Zombie Huntin' I can think of.

In the background, we hear the sound of Lear Cale pumping his shotgun. We can imagine the wicked smile on his face, gleam in his eye.

here's a can script that will add them to a list -- perhaps someone can get a little more creative with a sit > explode > ban thing

i'm setting up 100 chairs a big box tilted over them and a huge stick with a string that holds up the box and gonna sit in the bushes i rez and when it's full *POW!!!!!* pull the sting the box drops on them then i IM everyone of you guys and i'll set the sim to 100% damage.
think that'll work?

My personal favorite is the no pay camp pads. They sit on them and it pops up a menu box that looks like the standard payment window.

i want that script.

Camp chair that pays every thirty minutes, but pops up a menu box that asks a random question every 25 minutes (to verify the camper is still there and active) then kicks them if the question is not answered in 2 minutes.

It's basically a dialog menu popup on a timer

I tried for a while with camper shooting rannge whith 2 plots of land seperated by a 3rd plot damage was only on the campers section, building was only on in the shooters section and people had to pay to $5L for 24hours access, but in the end I could get 2 campers all the time, but not enough shooters willing to pay. So it cost money to run.
I didn't get too many bots either, most were actual campers, which made you feel a little guilty after speaking to them to drop a grenade at their feet or use the Spider launcher

Hmm maybe you could make a havok based tilt pad in a no fly zone so if there got to be 10 campers it tilted dropping them all into a vat of diet, caffine free cherry coke

mmm that means that is enough a regular camp chair and a land with the damage option activated? are you sure?. Because i remember that once i was playing in a shooting sim and i couldnt kill or push the people who was camping near there. Someone told me that was because when you are sitted, the bullets cant hurt you.

That ain't always the case, certain scripts/weapons can unsit avs, even in no-push zones. But I ain't tellin u that u should do that.

I dunno if anybody has seen "The Camping Slave Wheel", it's like somethin out of a Conan movie...the campers push this giant wheel that looks like it pumps water for ancient Greece or somethin. They only pay out L$3 per 1000 minutes, and there is a time-limit of inactivity every 30 minutes, so theres no way 2 go to sleep over night & fake it. The bots operators come check thier L$ the next day, and never send thier bots back again.

On the downside, there are so many bot-farms (in RL) now, that you will still get bot traffic every once in a while, but maybe just 3-10 bots a day, nothin to stop us Residents from shoppin @ your Sim.

You can't unsit them, but with damage enabled you can kill them while sitting with a freebie gun

or take a landmine, redo the prim... add hover text and enjoy


or can take a simple teleport script that you have to set x,y, and z distances on... and put in some obscene high numbers..
