Not that I can remember - you could always download the bvh files from the web site and some residents had obviously uploaded them, as you can find quite a few of them as freebies.

since 04 at least There was no Library folder in 2004. At least not one that was ever displayed to the regular resident without turning on some obscure option. I do not even recall a library folder in 2005. _____________________

I think we had animations in it in 2006. I have some Linden anims in my animations folder that I cannot imagine I got in any other way, since I didn't know how to upload BVH's until last year. Earlier this year I opened the library folder to look for one, and was surprised to see it empty.
Speaking of this, does anyone know where there is a pack of the uploaded Linden anims, at least the stands? Seems silly to spend time figuring out which one(s) I want and upload them, when it's been done thousands of times already. . |

While in SL, you don't have to upload the default animations inworld to use them. Unless you're after using them in gestures. (^_^)

Default anims (in LL's format) are in a local asset database distributed with the viewer, that's why they don't turn up in the library.

I think that the new walk project kind of died when Jesse Linden left, that was just a few weeks after the solicitation :/

So apparently we had an Library Animations folder with animations in it earlier despite not even having a Library folder at all.
That clarifies matters. Cubey mentions the library folder in a post from December 2004: http://www.cubeyterra.com/2004_12_01_archive.php . _____________________

There was no Library folder in 2004. At least not one that was ever displayed to the regular resident without turning on some obscure option. I do not even recall a library folder in 2005. I'm all about obscure debug settings, so it's quite possible it wasn't showing as default in late 04... I'm absolutely sure it was there by mid 05 though, because I remember trying to find my just uploaded anims in the library folder on accident when I had to reupload my walks for the new (now main) account. (because I forgot to keep them from the old av) PS aren't all the default anims available from the dropdown in the gesture edit pane? been a while since I looked, but I thought they were, or is it just the ones that are already part of a gesture? _____________________

PS aren't all the default anims available from the dropdown in the gesture edit pane? been a while since I looked, but I thought they were, or is it just the ones that are already part of a gesture? It uses a hard coded subset, gUserAnimStates in llcharacter/llanimationstates.cpp, plus what's in inventory. Missing are locomotion/stands/sits, weapon holds, busy, appearance, the infamous talk nod, etc. |

ok... so the ui only triggered ones aren't in there... Yes, except for the ones that are there (whisper, shout, away) ![]() they are named here though, and can be triggered by name even if not in the prim... http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Internal_Animations Yep, and one additional quirk of the built-ins is that the names are case insensitive, so it's probably best to avoid any variation of those names for uploaded ones. |
