Before anyone downloads the new Firefox3, be aware that the linkification add on so necessary in these forums is not compatible with the new version of Firefox. That was the plug in that added clickablity to the unclickable links in the forums

Strife Onizuka has a Greasemonkey script that takes care of the problem, described in a sticky at the top of the Resident Answer threads.
Both Greasemonkey and Strife's script seem to be working fine for me in FF3.

I saw in another forum or another thread that SLURLs used in ff3 were opening the RC viewer, not the normal viewer, and if you do not have the RC viewer you might get a rather confused FF3. Or not. heh. Just a possibility.

If Nich was running, a SLURL would open it. If nothing was running or if SL was running, Firefox 2 would use that to open the SLURL. Now, I just get Firefox 3 basically blowing up and creating and endless loop of tabs. I have to close the app and sometimes use Task thing to shutdown the Firefox process. Not sure what to try next.

I'm using FF3 with the RC and SLURLs are working fine for me. And I think I just broke my record for number of acronyms in one sentence.

From: Snickers Snook A bunch of stuff.... You know I just realized from my last post how totally freaking geeky I've become in the year since I've been on SL!!!! 8 months ago I would have been whining until I got my tech support friend over to figure out this crap. Now I'm editing the registry, running alternate viewers, installing scripts and making prim clothing. WHERE DID I GO SO BADLY WRONG????

I've not had any compatibility problems with my GM script with FF3. I've been pleased about that.

Well I called my tech friend and ended up completely uninstalling Firefox, running a reg cleaner thing, restarting the computer and reinstalling Firefox. That worked! I can now SLURL away.

From: Strife Onizuka I've not had any compatibility problems with my GM script with FF3. I've been pleased about that. I would love to have a place for feature requests for that GM script... I would love it if it didn't turn ampersands in links to the entity representation (or as Douglas Crockford would say, 'entityify' them), so that I could click on things like SLX links and actually be taken to the intended product Otherwise, works for me in FF3 as well, thanks for making it available! .

SLurls launch the last viewer you installed on your system.
