Can anyone explain to me how to move the whole of my house. The house has been rezzed and parts of it unlinked. I now need to be able to move it around on my land, is this possible?

Many thanks

I had the same problem, but i think it's a bit difficult, unless u have full perms to all the objects that u rezzed in the house, because if not, you are not allowed to link everything together.

You don't need to link all the pieces, nor you need full rights over everything either.
Move your camera up above til you can see the whole house, then right click on one section and go into Edit mode. Once one section is selected, draw a square around the whole house and all the pieces will be selected at the same time. You can move and turn the whole thing then.
It may be helpful if you have the Select Only My Prims checked in Tools before you do this so you don't end up selecting your neighbor's prims as well.

I have used this technique many times, and it works, but at first I found that it seemed to work for only around 90-95% of the prims. I found that small unlinked prims, eg wall switches etc, were often left behind. I eventually found that if that after you drag-select your box around the house, do not release the mouse button for about 30 seconds, and that way more and more prims (including the tiny ones) got selected.

I do large builds and I agree about the problems of small unlinked prims, my method is to cam around after everything is select and zoom in a little, then drag select again while still holding your mouse key down, this can pick up any small unlinked prims you have missed.

Also remember that some door scripts do need resetting when they are moved, so after moving the house it is a good idea to select your doors, before opening them, and reset all scripts which can be found at the bottom of the tools menu. Oh yes make sure all doors are closed before moving.

Good tip.

Here's another one, if all the build belongs to you, whether linked or not, drag select it all, and choose Wear.

(it does look bloody odd wearing an entire house, but it DOES work).

Then fly to the location you want to move it to, and in the pie-menu select Drop.

No, I am having very strange problems posting. If I use the word 'from' it invariable gives me an error, and says I do not have permission to post. I have to keep deleting words and sentences to see where the problem is.

This gave me an error (without the 123):"and select Drop 123from the pie-menu.

This was OK: "and in the pie-menu select Drop".

If I replace the '123' in '123from' above with an asterisk (*from) or a tilde (~from), I still get the error. Very strange bug.

"S elect" (without the space) is the "nasty word" that will screw up posts and make then invalid. This is because of an amaturish hack word filter LL installed rather than actually installing an upgrade to the Forum software to prevent a security attack.
