I have some palm trees right on the edge of my property line. Some of the palm fronds overhang above my neighbors land. Does this affect their prim count in any way? If so, I'd be happy to move them, but I really prefer them where they are.

Doesn't affect the prim count. But they can have the Lindens move them, if you won't.

As long as the root prim on your land, no...

However, they could still AR it if it hangs over. Hopefully they'd be nice enough to just ask, if it bothers them, but some people aren't cool like that, so you never know.

No it doesn't. It's where the root prim is that matters and LL palms are only 1 prim.

It might matter to the neighbors though ;)

Try talking to them and asking them if the trees bother them. Some folks do not mind, some do.

The prims are on your land, not theirs.

Objects exist, and are counted, in the sim where their root prim is rezzed, so probably you are not affecting your neighbors. This is how folks on isolated islands put waves out in the void.

It is generally regarded as bad form to encroach in any substantive way - say a megaprim deck - over your neighbor's land.

(incidently, congrats on your re-opening! hope it's going well)

It shouldn't, unless part of the base of your trees is over the line. To be sure all they have to do is look at their 'About Land' 'Objects' 'Show List' to see who has prims on their property. Chances are it won't be you. I do have it in my covenant on my sim, to have all objects back from the property line 2 meters; it's because we've had problems with builds on the property lines, not trees. I wouldn't care about tree branches if it was me. Did your neighbors complain?

Actually he's on estate land, don't think the Lindens will interfere but the neighbor could complain to the sim owner/estate manager.

The two meter rule seems like a good one. I think I'll follow that. No one has complained, I just want to be courteous to my neighbors and not affect them at all.

/me nods
Didn't know he was on estate.

So it depends on what kind of day the landlord is having.

And glad to see you back Bradley.
