I can't hear music on any of my parcels, or other people's parcels. There's no problem with my sound or the streams as I can play them outside of SL. Anyone else having problems or is it just me?

Does the music control panel appear at the bottom of the screen?

Yup I've tried pressing stop and play and nothing comes out. I'll try again later after a reboot.

Though it is claimed that SL is mearly a music player like Winamp that picks up the music URL set in the land. I have found that since the OS Debacle along with many other aspects music streaming to the SL client has gone down the toilet to. As a DJ I can stream to myself though winamp loud and clear, I can stream from home to myself at work also loud and clear, BUT! from the same box to the same server to SL my stream cuts out constantly.
So I am forced to believe it is whatever LL and or their client just is not working for many of us trying to stream in world. Lately even internet radio stations have been blinking out on me.

It was my understanding that the SL client is not responsible for playing the music stream at all. All it does is tell your computer OS to play a specified stream, and your OS sets up a connection with the music stream independent of SL.
It's possible that an SL "update" has caused SL to mess up that communication to your OS to start a music stream. Updating your OS audio drivers, or tweaking settings, might fix it for you.

It's working fine now, I rebooted my PC, not sure I needed to but I can ehar music again. Sounds more like the issue Mortus is talking about.

It could be that your viewer is working too hard running your SL viewer and doesn't have enough power left to handle the stream as well. Are you running any resource-hungry apps in the background? I occasionally find the audio stream breaks up when I run 2 clients on a computer whereas when I only run a single client the stream it's always continuous.
